When we talk about the matters of approaching women, or how to approach women, we invariably come up with the skill of conversation being important to the skill of how to approach women successfully.

What do you ask questions regarding?
Well, I always just ask questions about something I want to know. It differs from person to person. But normally if I am meeting someone new I might possibly ask questions like "Do you have brothers and sisters?" "Do you live with your parents?" "Do you have a lot of friends?"
Usually a person chats for a while when answering and that provides you more data to ask some more questions about. At times I will make a remark if it is proper or if they ask me a question in answering to my question I just answer their question then ask them another one of my questions.
The tough times are when people just give you "yes" and "no" type answers. That doesn't give much to work off of.
When I think the situation is annoying or the person isn't speaking much (like the above "yes" and "no" replies), then I talk about how annoying the situation is. Tell something like "This is embarrassing. I feel so awkward. I don't know what to speak. Do you feel awkward too?"
Generally you can get a little dialogue going on that topic and minimize a lot of stress just by accepting that you feel awkward and don't know what to talk. Then proceed to a question like "Ok, let's see what we can discuss. What are your interests? Do you have any pastime activities?"
Another questioning method is to notice what a person puts their focus on and discuss or ask questions about that. So, just like, if you are in an eatery and the person you are dating isn't talking much, just going through the menu, you might say "Kind of an exciting menu. What seems to be good to you?" That might trigger a conversation about food items or restaurants and menus, etc.
This approach is also good for meeting unfamiliar persons. If you are in a general store next to some one attractive who is staring at "lamb chops" you might say: "I see you are interested in the lamb chops. Do you know an excellent way to cook them, I've always wished to try them, but just don't know how to prepare them."
Remember also that you are not always going to connect with everyone you meet. So if you try, try, and try to get a decent dialogue going and it doesn't happen then this is possibly not the best person for you.
